Props
PhoneThe use of a phone in our production was a significant implementation when creating titles and short shots. The phone was firstly used to send messages to create our title, and give off a social media affect on them. The phone was also used by our victim, she would receive messages from the antagonist and would be in plain view of the camera. Finally it was used as an icon for the social media theme we created for our production and the gateway in which the killer communicates to its victim.

LaptopThis prop is used when another significant dialogue scene is being shot. The victim is in her room, talking to her friend over webcam; who continues to warn her about the impending danger. The use of a laptop will help create the ambiance of a homely scene which the victim should feel safe in, but instead feels trapped. The laptop will be quite cheap which also makes the character feel more believable; being a student who does not have much money. The further use of social media can be aided by the use of a laptop, as it is a popular use of searching the web when going online. As well as possibly being another form of communication in which the killer contacts its victim.

SwingsThe use of the park swings allowed us to create ghostly or supernatural appearances in the trailer. We could manipulate the swings to move and creak, which creates creepy sounds and spooks the victim. A crew member could move the swing and once the camera pans around, it appears that they have moved by themselves. Finally the sound of the chains shaking and rusty metal scraping created perfect sounds to set the scene of a haunting or that something about the scene is incredibly unsafe or restless. The swings also help create an innocent scene with an uneasy vibe which could trick the audience into a sense of false hope or security.

Basket SwingThe basket swing was firstly used as a starting point for two characters to verbally communicate. The victim and her friend sit on the swing to talk and set the scene for how she will meet her fate. Secondly it fits in well for teenagers their age, so it makes the scene believable to the viewer. Finally it can aid in the creation if a spooky scene, by appearing to move by itself, which is one of the many props which appears to be being manipulated out of no where; by no one. The basket swing also aids the creating of a ,should be, innocent scene. A park would also be a believable location for our characters to hang out as they are young and possibly looking for fun or trouble.
